Gabriella Esperson caught and released what may have been a new Wisconsin state record largemouth bass. The fish measured 25.75 inches long, 20.06 inches in girth and weighed 11.05 pounds (on a non certfied scale).

On Feb. 18th 2012 Rodney Ply of Arkansas caught a whopping 68-pound striped bass that was worth $1 million if approved as a world record by the International Game Fish Association. The fish -- at least a half-pound bigger than the world-record 67.5-pounder -- was big enough, but the homemade lure (Alabama Rig) he used to catch the monster fish at Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas was deemed illegal by the IGFA. A new Oklahoma state record largemouth bass was caught Friday, March 23, at Cedar Lake in southeast Oklahoma. The fish weighed 14 lbs. 12.3 oz. and was caught by Poteau angler Benny Williams, Jr. while on a camping trip at the 78-acre LeFlore Co. lake.

This record was stripped because the angler did not have a fishing license.Well it looks like the 36 year old state record for a Largemouth Bass was broken yesterday (February 28th). Paul Crowder caught a 16.5lb Largemouth at Lake Dunn near Wynne. The previous record was 16.4lbs, Paul beat it by just one ounce!
